To provide an educational program for Pre-kindergarten students.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid New Mexico teaching license with endorsements as needed.
The Pre-K teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate
preschool program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. The Preschool Teacher will also be responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach
young children. They must ensure the development and safety of these children in accordance
with relevant and policies. The Preschool Teacher will be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving light furniture may be required.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provides learning experiences in language arts, social studies, pre-reading/reading/arithmetic, science, art, and physical education to pupils.
- Instructs students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other elements as required by the school district.
- Develops and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and visual instruction of students with wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturities.
- Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and help students make a satisfactory transition to school.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve effective participation in all activities.
- Communicates with parents through a variety of ways including parent conferences to discuss the individual student’s progress.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, behavioral and learning problems.
- Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and centers.
- Maintains professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
- Uses technology as an instructional tool in the classroom where appropriate and models the use of technology for personal and professional work management.
- Performs basic attendance accounting as required.
- Establishes and maintains district standards as prescribed by board policies and district rules and regulations.
- Communicates with students, staff, administration, as well as parents.
- Performs duties as directed by the administration.
- Treats all people with dignity and respect.
